Internet Coach or Mentor – Which One Do You Need?

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Look anywhere on the internet and you will find someone who calls themselves a coach. You will see such title as Network Marketing Coach, Professional Success Coach, Internet Marketing Mentor.

So What is the Difference Between Coaching & Mentoring

The coach teaches you how to develop the skills you need for your industry or a specific task. The coach helps to improve the student’s performance. Coaching often is for a short period. Once the task is learned, often the coaching ends.

Mentoring is developing a long relationship over a period of time. The mentor helps the mentee to see the issues that are impacting his or her success. Mentoring involves developing for the future as well.

So Do You Need One or the Other?

You need both. A coach can teach you and share tips about Internet Marketing and Social Media and virtually help you shave off 18 –24 months of your learning time.

A mentor can help you to see your impact over time. Often times, the relationship starts off as coaching but develops into a mentor/mentee experience.

So let me give you the tips to make sure you partner with a great coach.

Tell me and I'll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I'll understand.

Qualities you should be looking for:

1.    The coach is knowledgeable and can find the answer if they do not have the answer handy.

2.    The coach is resourceful. The coach has tools and or resources to help you get started or point you in the right direction.

3.    The coach is available and returns your phone calls. Be reasonable and do not waste his or her time.

4.    The coach has a coach/mentor. Any great coach will tell you that he or she learned from someone else.

At the end of the day, a coach or mentor means nothing if you don’t have the sheer determination to do what it takes to get to the finish line. Both can give you a blueprint, share tips and maybe give you the occasional pep talk but it will be YOU that will have to put your butt in gear and make it happen.

My challenge to my readers and to myself is to live on purpose and make it happen. Take it brick by brick to build the business you desire. Remember as you are building your business you also need a personal development plan (PDP). I will cover that in another article.

Till the next time……

Internet Marketing – What is it? Can you do it?

Any method that helps you make money out of the Internet by publicizing a product for sale is Internet marketing.

It is not necessary that the product be yours. Network marketing is a form of Internet Marketing. Network Marketing is a method of marketing where companies use independent representatives to reach potential customers with traditional online and offline marketing methods. Becoming an affiliate for some website that is selling a product is another way to do this. Here you are not selling your own product, but you are publicizing it on the Internet all the same. That is why it fits within the definition of Internet marketing.

Anybody and everybody that has a computer with a reliable Internet connection can enter into Internet marketing. There’s a lot more to be learned and understood before you make the start in this grand opportunity.

You need to have a website or a blog. That’s an absolute must. This is nothing short of an office space. It could be your virtual corporate office. This is what people who don’t know you will see and build an impression about yourself.

It is imperative to partner with an Internet Success Coach. A coach can reduce your learning experience by 18 -24 months assuming that you are coachable and teachable.

Advantages

The biggest advantage is that this is the best way to start a business of your own.

On the Internet, you don’t need much capital at all. You can set up a business for free and then keep it running through profits that you earn.

Anyone can get into Internet marketing – stay at home mom and dads, teenagers, retirees, disabled people, people who don’t have a home of their own, people who don’t have social security and even able-bodied working men and women who want to make extra income. The trend is shifting toward the Internet anyway. People have become very apprehensive about their offline jobs due to the recession and there has suddenly been a spurt in the number of people joining the Internet “buzz”.

Also consider the tax deductible factor. When you use a portion of your home for your home business that becomes a part of your deductibles. The same applies to the computer that you use.

The convenience is an excellent factor as well. You don’t have to travel anywhere. You can work in your PJ’s or boxers; you don’t have to physically impress the people you are dealing with. Some people feel that they are freer when they are chatting online than they are when they are speaking face-to-face.

There is no limit to what you can earn working online. Two to five years of hard work and you can change your financial course forever.

Disadvantages

Scam operators. Yes, there are scammers. You have to be honest; you have to make sure that you are dealing with people in the right way. Though there is always a bit of skepticism connected with any online dealing, if you are honest, you will make it through.

You have now all the ingredients you would need for starting your Internet marketing venture. But to go ahead, you will need more knowledge, more information. This is the reason why you should keep reading great material and keep improving your knowledge bank.  Then you must take action. Please continue to follow me at www.tammymcclureonline.com for great tips that you will need to take your business further ahead.

Do You Have A Winning Mindset

Do You Have A Winning Mindset?

My twins who are six years old played in their very first Chess tournament this past Saturday. My husband and I didn’t want to get their hopes up too high. We said “this is your first tournament, you are going to learn, have fun, it doesn’t matter whether your win – we just want you to get some experience.”

My son says “mommy, it is not okay if I don’t bring a trophy home.”  Now of course, the mom in me didn’t want him to be let down in case he didn’t win a trophy. I said, “Let’s see what happens.” He told me I am coming home with a trophy.

Check him out, studying and concentrating on his next move.

Studying My Next Move

Now check him out. He did it; he came home with the trophy.  Simply because he believed in his mind and heart that he was a winner before he even set foot in the building. The take away is winning first starts in your head and heart and no matter whether you win or lose you will have started off with the right mindset and in the end you win.
